Spotted: Difference between design and art as explained by Hans Wegner, legendary Danish furniture maker & architect:

"(Design) is always to solve a problem by creating a tool that is a good tool for the user. A chair for example is only finished when someone sits in it."

The pedant in me wants to make my usual point about the ongoing design processes over the life of the chair, around the chair – so it’s not finished as such – but that’s a nice enough definition as is for now.
